The fine arts department is composed of many different categories, in which can be summed up by two words. Sight and Sound.

The sight portion of it would be the visual department which includes lighting, video-production, worship slides, and stage design. Our main purpose is to connect the body of the church through the visual stimulation of color and design, to Christ. Visual creativity can show us many different ways in which God’s love and mercy is displayed allowing our hearts to be opened reminding us of how Great and Beautiful, our Creator is.

The sound portion of it can be summed up by the music department, in which we strive to bring people into a relationship with God, through songs of praise and adoration. The book of Psalms is endless with expression of how great our God is, and so we can conclude that He alone deserves all of our praise, and one way we can do this is through song. In Joshua 6, it speaks of a great city wall falling at the sound of trumpets and the shouts of people in one unified front. Through song we can see walls fall in our own lives along with those around us, when the praise and the shout of our hearts are given as worship to God.

I believe that through both sight and sound, we can find a way that both spiritually and emotionally allows us to have a connection to the only one that deserves all the glory and praise, our Lord and King.
